Butterfly Fountain

Butterfly fountain was made for my sister in law.  She requested that I build a fountain for one of her former assistant principals.  Watching the butterflies floating around my yard one morning, I came up with the idea of the butterfly fountain. The rough mountain ranges around Phoenix and the butterfly to soften the harshness gave me the idea for this sculpture.  The harsh mountains come down to the valley base with a pond and Lilly pads for the butterfly to play in.  A gentle flow from the flowers makes it easy for the butterfly or any other animal to get their refreshment in the harsh desert conditions.

Description:  This fountain has a one piece base and back of copper.  The back is shaped to resemble mountains with rocks and crevices by using a hammer and chisel.   The lily pads climb out of the base and up the wall to allow for the flow of water.  The butterfly was painted and soldering it to the back.  Gentle streams splash out of the lilly pads with at least one place for a hummingbird to land and take its bath.  A theme that follows through a lot of my fountains.

Dimensions: Ceramic pot dimensions are approximately 24" long, 12" deep and 12" wide.  The back of the copper sculpture adds another 12" in height.

All sculptures are unique.  The picture above represents what yours may look like when it is completed especially for you.
