Ocean Floor

Ocean Floor is the result of expanding my idea from Swaying in the Current. Similar to the ocean floor of the Monterey Bay, I included the appearance of rock reefs with caves.  This enabled the LED lighting I installed, to emit from the caves, diffusing the light.  This spreads the soft green light all around the bowl.  I used larger LED lights for the green color and lumens for diffusion.  This method of  diffusion, played perfectly into the logistical requirements when using electrical lighting, you need access to all parts.  The removable rock reefs cover the lights and the bolt that holds the entire base to the bottom of the bowl.  Since the life expectancy of an LED light is about 50000 hours I do not think access will be necessary, but still required.

Description:  Ceramic bowl 8" in diameter and 4" tall.  Total height of sculpture is approximately 12".  Hammered copper base with three pieces of copper cut out to resemble kelp.  Three hammered removable copper pieces for the raised reef and two recessed 12 mm green LED lights.  There is a small transformer in the bowl.  The electrical cord has a rocker switch close to the bowl, to enable you to turn the lights on or off easily.

All sculptures are unique.  The picture above represents what yours may look like when it is completed especially for you.
